KENTA AOKI

KENTA AOKI was born in Shizuoka Prefecture in 1984.
He graduated from the School of Engineering,Shinshu University Graduate School in 2009.He then began working as a researcher in a Japanese manufacturer.He is still working as a researcher.
At the age of 35,he wondered why Picasso’s art had value.And then,he became interested in “Painting.”
At that time,COVID-19 struck the world.In this constrained environment,he started wondering “what can I express to the world?” At the same time,his grandfather who was painting died.In 2020,amid these situations,he started learning “Painting” himself.
This is his philosophy: people can create interesting things within limits.
This is because he learned the concept that "if a material has five adjectives,it will stand out" in the field of research and development.
To express this concept,he set five limits and is always trying to draw within these limits.

In this art form,the five limits of "analog×digital×cubism×focus×four-colored theorem" are set.His paintings are characterized by geometric figures,patterns from many perspectives,and calculated color arrangement.

1984年、静岡県生まれ。
18歳で信州大学 繊維学部に進学し、24歳で日系メーカーの研究開発者に。
35歳まで科学一辺倒の生活を送っていたが、“ピカソの絵画にはなぜ価値があるのか？”に興味を抱き、“絵”に対する関心が芽生える。
そんな時、100年に1度のウイルスが襲来。制約だらけの中で、“自分は世の中にどんな表現が出来るのだろう”と考え始める。時を同じくして、絵を描いていた祖父が他界したことも重なり、2020年より、独学で絵を学び始める。
活動の理念は、『 制約の中でこそ　面白いものを 』。これは、研究開発の場において、『 5つの形容詞を持たせると、その材料は突出したものになる 』という概念を学んだことに由来している。この概念を体現するべく、自身の作品では、” 5つの制約 “を設定し、その中でいかに面白いアートを創り、世の中に貢献できるか、実験の日々を送っている。

代表的な作品は、“アナログ×デジタル×キュビズム×フォーカス×四色定理”の5つを制約に設定したもので、幾何学的な図形、多視点での模様、計算された色彩、の組み合わせが特徴的なものとなっている。
