Fujian

Fujian creates work that mirrors the life he leads and inspires the viewers with his wishes encapsulated in them. He aspires to make his work resonate with the viewer and thus give them vitality as an artistic companion.

In the background of his creation is a brush with death he had from disease in his mid-30s. He went through desperation and gave up picking up a brush again. However, he miraculously overcame his sickness and was brought back to the joy of writing.
Embracing the life given to him for the second time, he stepped aside from exhibitions and awards he used to apply for and started as an independent artist, hoping to pay the world back with calligraphy.

Fujian の生み出す作品は、自身の生き様であり、そこに込められた想いは鑑賞する人の刺激となる。彼は作品が鑑賞者と互いに作用し合い、共に生きる活力となるアートであることを志す。

その背景には、30歳代中頃、病により「死」を覚悟した経験がある。一度は筆を持つことを諦め、絶望感を味わった。奇跡的に病を克服すると、書く事の楽しさを忘れられず「もう一度もらった命」と思い、これまでの受賞歴や中央展への出品から離れ「書」で恩返しをしたいと思い、個人的に活動を始めた。

彼は製作の中で、漢字や言葉そのものが持つ意味やエネルギーを、用具、用材、書く時の状況に応じて表現する。伝統美を活かしながらも、これまでの書道の概念にとらわれない新感覚の発想を心がけている。

音楽をはじめ、洋裁、フラメンコなど、他ジャンルとのパフォーマンスや、出会ったアーティストから受ける刺激を糧に、彼の進化は止む事はない。

世界に向けて作品を発表しながら、一人一人の思いに寄り添った作品を作るアーティストでありたい。
