Marumi Satoishi

Marumi Satoishi worked at Hayatani Shrine which has a history of 1800 years and she was involved in Japanese religion practically and deeply. She has created and exhibited many works related to Japanese religion, those works have been seen by over a million people who visit the shrine in a year and featured in newspapers and TV.
She got a Master of Fine Arts in 2024 at Tokyo University of the Arts (the most difficult art school in Japan). During her time as a student, she participated in numerous art competitions, winning 4 awards, and exhibited works 14 times in Japan and abroad.
She creates large artworks using simple materials. Those works include beautiful contradictions, as humble yet impressive, delicate yet durable. The creating process requires strong concentration and effort from her. Immersion gives her the effect similar to meditation. It lets her rest mind and protects herself from difficulty and complexity in her life.
Through her works, She encourages people to the value of Integrity, tranquility, detailedness, fundamental, primitive and humanity. 　　

里石真留美は、1800年の歴史を持つ速谷神社に3年間奉職し、日本の哲学と宗教観について深く研究した。神道に関する作品を多数制作し、 4年連続で制作している正月の大絵馬は、初詣に訪れる11万人の目に触れ、地元メディアにも掲載される。
2022年、東京藝術大学美術研究科デザイン専攻に進学し、2024年に修士号（美術）を取得。在学中から多数のアートコンペに参加し、2年間で4つの賞を獲得、国内外で14回の作品展示を行った。
彼女は、シンプルな素材を使って、大きなアート作品を制作する。それらの作品は、謙虚かつ印象的、繊細かつ丈夫で、矛盾する二つの事象を両立する。これらの制作プロセスには長時間の集中と努力が必要だ。彼女は、作品に没頭することで心を休め、人生の困難や複雑さから身を守ることができると考えている。彼女は、自身の作品を通じて、誠実さ、静けさ、細部へのこだわり、プリミティブ、精神性を人々に共有したいと考えている。
