MICO

MICO is an illustrator and artist who creates works that fuse "art ”and “fashion”. When she was a university student, she was fascinated by London where you can feel closer to art anywhere you go and she visited there many times. London made MICO realize how much she loved art and that she wanted to be a creator. This is how MICO started creating works as an artist, which has been her dream since her childhood.

MICO’s works remind you of London in the 1960s, 70s when the culture of young people who obtained freedom flourished after the end of WWII. She incorporates brilliant colors, graphics, pop patterns, and good old traditions of that era into her style.

While attending university, MICO also went to fashion school to make clothes and gain fashion knowledge. Using this experience, she found her style of expressing the texture of fabrics, stitches, and embroidery like real clothes just with a pen. MICO hopes that people enjoy her unique world of art × fashion with a pure feeling of choosing clothes that anyone has ever had.

MICOはアートとファッションをミックスした作品を手がけるイラストレーター兼アーティスト。 大学生時代、町中でアートを身近に感じられるロンドンに魅了され度々訪れる。 やはりアートが好きで、自分も作る側になりたいと気づき幼少期からの夢だったアート制作を開始。

彼女の作品は終戦後、自由を手にした若物の文化が開花した60.70年代のロンドンを思い起こさせる。 鮮やかな色使い、グラフィックでポップな柄、古き良きクラシックを自己流に融合。

また大学在学中、ファッションの知識も学びたいと服飾学校で洋服作りを経験。 それを生かしリアルな生地感や刺繍、ステッチをペンひとつで表現する作風を見出した。 誰でも抱く純粋にお洒落を楽しむような身近な気持ちで、彼女ならではの「アート×ファッション」の世界観を楽しんで貰いたい。
